SFMCA Restructure Finalised

Print version

By David Bray

Members in all five States have voted to proceed with the restructure. This will greatly reduce administration work as the organisation will operate under a national administration while retaining State SFMCA Branch meetings.

We are pleased to announce that our members in all five states have voted yes to the organisational restructure. This calls for the winding-up of the five state SFMA associations and the formation of SFMCA state branches.

While most members will see no changes in how we operate, behind the scenes the new structure greatly reduces our administration work in maintaining six sets of bank accounts, GST returns and membership administration. These functions will now be run centrally with our existing State Secretaries becoming State Development Managers, who have a change in role and function. We will continue to run State branch meetings and members elect their representatives on our Federal council.

I would like to thank all members that have been involved in the restructure process and attendance at meetings to vote on the changes.

Should you have any further questions about the restructure feel free to contact myself or John Spragg our Executive Officer.
